      <description>&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.thorpnews.com/thorpnews/coolnews/Entries/2008/9/16_Kendal_College_asked_us_to_pitch..._files/KendalCollege.jpg&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://www.thorpnews.com/thorpnews/coolnews/Media/object004.png&quot; style=&quot;float:left; padding-right:10px; padding-bottom:10px; width:148px; height:63px;&quot;/&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Kendal College has been through a radical change, undergoing a £12.9 million facelift to its building and consumer offering.&lt;br/&gt;When your spending that kind of money you want a return on investment, which is why they were rumoured to be looking for a rebrand, and a brand agency to help them with it.&lt;br/&gt;Imagine our surprise when Kendal College asked us to pitch at the beginning of this month.  Not only was it a great honour in itself, but we thought another local agency had this client signed and sealed!&lt;br/&gt;How wrong we were...&lt;br/&gt;From a list of four agencies who were asked to pitch, we instanlty made it to the final two.  Not only beating the existing agency, but by also outshining a city agency in the process, we have shown that Thorp Creative has not only the local edge, but can hold its weight against big hitters from the South. &lt;br/&gt;What ever the final result we’re thouroughly happy will our local one, which gives our team additional confidence (not that they need it!) in pushing the strategic and creative vision we have for our existing and potential clients solutions in the future.&lt;br/&gt;Keep your fingers crossed for good news, we'll let you know when we do...</description>

We need to do better,&lt;br/&gt;We all pollute...&lt;br/&gt;There we said it. We aren't exactly proud of it either. But we are doing our bit to be that little bit better.&lt;br/&gt;We've been sourcing our paper from sustainable sources for a while now, and using recycled paper where suitable but now we're doing more to recycle it too. We have reached the bronze award level on the Cumbria Business Environmental Network 'CBEN' award scheme and are working on reaching the silver level. 'CBEN' works to promote environmental awareness and good practice within Cumbria. &lt;br/&gt;Our new designer has investing in 99% recycled trainers for his walk to work. Created from reclaimed leather, recycled car tires, military jackets, t-shirts and jeans, they show how a greener approach can also be innovative.&lt;br/&gt;We like the philosophy that being great ideas can have a halo.&lt;br/&gt;But we're doing more than that. We've engrained this same sustainable approach into our entire process. We believe that by taking a considered approach to everything that goes out the door, we can build a stronger strategy without compromising on the ideas that actually work for our clients, hit targets and exceed expectations.</description>

This is an honour indeed, as the words have to pass stringent criteria to be deemed official 'MOTO' language.&lt;br/&gt;Our work in Motorola's senior management and director leadership programme has gone from strength to strength over the years. The projects we have completed to date include branding consultations, marketing material design and production, packaging design, website visualisation and conference packs. We have worked in the UK, Europe and been invited to Motorola's head office in Chicago to watch our projects roll-out at the annual conference.&lt;br/&gt;It's been a great ride so far and now we're in the new studio and have the capacity to take on the additional work, we hope our relationship achieves the potential it's deserves to... the skies the limit, watch this space!</description>
